Saturday, 6/24/23, Jacobs graduation party day !

Bill and I came home at 8:30 in the morning so I could make 5 batches of goulash.  I got everything I needed to take to the party ready and Bill got all of our chairs loaded and the volleyball net loaded.  We had light rain the day before and heavy rain the day after, but today’s weather was nice.  It was nice in the shade of the pavilion with a light breeze blowing. Everything looked amazing! Kimmy and Vikki did an outstanding job!  Their chocolate chip cookies were so yummy!  Kimmy did an amazing job making and decorating all those cupcakes too and making those delicious rolls.  Kimmy, Vikki, Melissa and Bruce, and I all made lots of goulash and it all was so delicious!  Kenzie helped with a lot too! Everything was sure wonderful! Jacob did great had greeting and talking with his friends, family and all who came!  He sure is a nice young man. God has great things planned for him!  Good friends, Charlie and Sue were the first ones to come.  They stayed almost to the end.

We  got to meet Marcia and Dennis who we felt like we knew from talking on Facebook.  They are close friends of Jared’s family and have camped with them for many years in Copper Harbor.  We hugged each other and then talked to them for a long time.  My sister Brenda and her husband Dave surprised us and came down from Ellsworth.  She kept it a sect that they were coming so when we saw them come we were all so happy.  Vikki and I were crying tears of joy when we went out to greet them and then Brenda tested up too. What an awesome surprise.  I was so happy she could meet Stacie, DJ and Kody.  The older kids and the youth pastor from Jacobs church had fun playing games outside.  Bill and Peyton played ladder ball. Jacobs friends that came were so nice. We were happy when Debbie and Matthew got there too, and then Wes, Gayla and Joel.  We sent lots of food home with them. We missed Jared’s parents.  They wanted to be there but Lela had surgery right before so it didn’t work out for them.  I know how much they love Jacob and that their hearts were there!   

It was nice to be able to relax when we got home.  Jacob called us and thanked us for helping and for his card and money.  

Friday, 6/23/23, came home from camping, helped clean pavilion for Jacobs party, Bill and I went back up north

 I packed up what I needed for home and came home to get some things done.  Shocked the pool and ran the filter, because the pool was starting to turn green again.  Stacie said they still don’t have theirs clear.  The high pollen is a big factor.  I watered the plants in my new garden.  Bill has been watering the garden and the plants around the house.  

I went to Walmart and then headed to Kimmy’s.  Vikki and her three kiddos were right behind me when I turned onto Eastman.  Pretty good timing!  We spent some time at Kimmy’s.  She and Vikki have both worked very hard getting everything ready for tomorrow.  Kimmy has made 140 rolls, and also lots of cupcakes which she decorated beautifully.  She is super amazing and talented!  Vikki and Kimmy also made chocolate chip cookies.  They are both such hard workers and talented at making this party special and fun for Jacob.  Kimmy filled big containers with water and we headed to the park.  Someone had cleaned it since they were there last but it still needed a good floor blowing off and then sweeping, wall scrubbing, counter scrubbing and table complete washing.  All the kids helped and that made it go much faster.  

I got my hugs and said my goodbyes and then headed home to cook up my burger for the goulash.  I warmed up grilled burgers, grilled potatoes and grilled asparagus from last night for Bill and my dinner.  After dinner Bill said he wanted to come back up north with me so we headed back up.  We stopped at a Dollar Store to get more water squirters.  We had M & M’s and cashews for a snack and relaxed!

Thursday, 6/22/23, more fun camping

We slept in again this morning. I read some on my book, Blessings or Curses, you choose.  We ate breakfast and then the boys and I went for our morning swim.  Melissa came and took pictures after we were there for a while.  We got some good exercise in.  

We ate lunch, then went to the beach.  The boys love going there to swim too.  Melissa and I are more pool people.  We enjoyed watching the boys have fun in the water.  After that the boys went swimming in the pool for a while.  They also went to the store, then played in the arcade.  They went to their fort a few times.  They rode their bikes lots too. No wonder they sleep so good here.  

We relaxed at the camper, then when Bruce called as said he and max were in their way, I made potatoes, burgers and asparagus on the grill. When Bruce got here the boys rode their bikes to give him the parking pass. Then Bruce, Max and Vader went for a walk. The other two boys, rode their bikes down the trail in the woods.  They all came back and we ate in the clam.  Everyone was too full and didn’t want dessert.  They had to pack up and leave after that because the guys forgot to feed Vader.  I will miss my camping buddies.  They sure were fun and really helpful too.  It was so nice hanging out with Melissa.  I put things away and did the few dishes there were, then went to the clubhouse to use the computer.  It wasn’t air conditioned like usual so didn’t spend much time there.  Came back and read my Bible and book.
