Friday, 7/5/24, Vikki and the kids went home, I went home for the day, Nice to spend the day with Bill, garden hoed, birds fed, to Souper cafe for dinner, then Menards. Put gas in at Sam’s Club then back up north to camper

When I got home, I saw Bill out hoeing the garden.
Flowers and plants look good at home

Vikki started packing laundry and stuff to take home.  I packed laundry and things I needed for the day, plus the clam and some other things we won’t be needing til the next camping trip at the end of the month.  Vikki, Peyton and Isaac went to leave and her car wouldn’t start. She FaceTimed Rody and he had her scrape the corrosion off her battery.  We were going to charge it off my Prius, but then Vikki thought of the motor home that was right in front of her car.  She FaceTimed Bill and he said we could charge it off that.  It started right away once I started the motor home.  Yay.  Then her trunk wouldn’t close which is probably why the battery died.  She made it home safely and Rody ordered a new latch.  I left shortly after she did.  When I got home I saw Bill out how other garden. I got my muck boots on and went out to hoe.  He had it half done and looked very tired.  He had tilled the small garden and part of the big one.  I told him to go in and get a drink and rest and I would do the rows that were left.  It was very hot out, so I was really thirst and tired when I finished.  I picked some radishes and sprayed them with the hose, then walked around and looked at where the stumps were ground of the big bushes that were taken out.  I went in and started my laundry, then got some ice water and relaxed with Bill in our recliners for 20 minutes.  We decided we needed a date night, so put that in our plans for the evening,  after my rest, I made hummingbird food and then went out and filled all the feeders.  I had to fix my bubbler in the pond and found the hose attached to the solar screen was disconnected.  I fed my fish and they sure were happy.  The pool looked great and nice and clear.  I added more chlorine tablets to the floater.  Bill has been working on the CMA State Rally and has a really good flyer made up and the schedule and  speakers, singers etc. all lined up.  With all that to do, he sure kept everything up for me outside and in the house.

I took a shower and dried my hair, then we headed to Old Town Drive in to get coney dogs. It’s one of our favorite places.  It was closed for the weekend because of the Fourth of July, so we went to another favorite place, Souper Cafe for sandwiches and soup.  My punch card was full so we got one soup free.  After we ate we went to Menards. When we got home, we could see a storm coming.  Bill said if I left I could probably stay ahead of it.  I was on the edge of the storm for half the way there, but only got heavy rain, no hail or high winds like other places.  Some places where I couldn’t see real far ahead had me going 25 miles an hour.  I was happy when I got to Pinconning and it got bright out and was clear out.  I called Bill to let him know I was at the camper safely.  Vikki called to check on me when I was almost here so I let her know too. I did my blog, ate a piece of left over pizza and now am going to read the Bible and my devotional and spend time with the Lord.  Excited to do that!

I made pancakes some plain and the rest with blueberries.  I started cooking some bacon and sausage and Vikki finished that while I made the pancakes.  She made plates up and handed them out to the kids who were all sitting and talking outside.

Eli said they were good but not as good as his other grandmas.  He told me about all the years of Copper Harbor morning pancakes.  He was cute!

Melissa, Bruce and Hailey got here at the same time as Kimmy and Jared. Jacob went to see Abi, Adams went to see Hope and Max was spending time with Papa.  We sat around talking for a while the kids were hanging out and riding bikes.  Then the kids went swimming and we girls watched them.

Melissa and I left to go pick up pizzas.  We got back and put the pizzas and bread sticks on the table in the clam and everyone ate.  The kids went on their bikes again.  Bruce, Melissa and the kids left because they were going to watch the fireworks and wanted to be back home before they started.  Jared started a nice fire and we sat around it for a while.  Kimmy, Jared, Vikki and I moved stuff and then Kimmy, Vikki and Jared took down the tent and then took down the clam for me.   Nice to have them down and put away.  Thank you all so much!

Vikki, Peyton, Isaac and I roasted marshmallows and made s’mores.  The crackers tasted so bad we couldn’t eat them.  Peyton looked and they were over a year expired.  You have to really watch dates when you shop at Northwoods.  We ended up putting marshmallows between Oreos instead. They were yummy.

It rained most of the night and thundered and there was lightning, but Jack, Eli and Evan said they all slept good in the tent and it didn’t leak.  Jack volunteered to pray, then we all ate breakfast.  The kids all went for a bike ride while Vikki and I relaxed.  I was cooking burger to have for homemade pizzas and goulash.  Vikki and I relaxed while it cooled, then I put it in the refrigerator, then the freezer.  Kimmy and Adam got here.  Jack came and told us he didn’t know where Evan was.  He went to ride his bike and find him. The other kids rode around trying to find him too. Kimmy and I rode in her van trying to find him and Vikki waited at the campsite in case he came. back.  Jack came and told us they had found him.  He had flew off his bike because the right brakes didn’t work. The medical person at the campground chef him out.  We were all happy and very relieved to see him ok.  We all went swimming in the outdoor pool after that.  Adam and Peyton went to the indoor hot tub, then the rest of us went.  We came back and ate lunch, then the kids went for walks and bike rides.

We went into town and I treated everyone to ice cream.  After we finished eating it, Kimmy dropped the kids off at the campground while Vikki and I went to the Family Dollar to get some things we needed.  She saved us $10 by downloading the app and clipping coupons.   Adam let us know when they got home.  We ate, then the kids rode their bikes again. Vikki and I laid in our hammocks.  The kids came back and hung outside. Peyton and I played tonk. I was the winner. She tried to stick me with lots of points at the end but got more points herself.  I read my Bible and more of my book on prayer we are doing for church during July.  Texted Bill lots.

Eli and friends on their Washington DC trip…he just sent them to me so their a little late getting posted

We slept until almost 9:30 this morning.  We ate breakfast and then Peyton and I walked to the store.  We registered to have our tanks dumped, and I picked up two bags of chocolate donuts to have with the kids later.  Then we walked around the campground on that end.

Kimmy, Adam, Eli, Jack and Evan came up for the day.  The kids walked around and Kimmy and I went for a walk too.  Then the kids rode their bikes through the trails.  We ate lunch, the went to the pool and watched the kids all swim.  It started raining so we all went to the indoor pool.  We girls hung out together at the camper while the kids had fun doing things together..

Kimmy and Adam left and the other boys are spending the night in the tent.  I made spaghetti for dinner.  The kids told us a little 4 year old girl was lost, so we prayed right away and called Kimmy to pray.  We were just getting ready to go help look for her when Peyton came and told us they found her sleeping in a chair at their campsite.  We were so thankful.  The kids came back to our camper at 9:30 because it was raining.  All the kids but Eli had popcorn.  Vikki warmed hot dogs up for all of them except Eli who didn’t want one.  At 11 they got in there tent to go nite nite.  Vikki played a Bible chapter on her phone and then after that was done made beds up and then we all went to bed.
