11/14/18...Walked at Sportszone,, Went to dentist, Went to Caregroup

The eagle was out when I went to the dentist.  Went by again on my way to get prescription.  Both eagles were sitting in the tree then, but I couldn't pull off to get a picture.

Bill and I walked two miles at the SportsZone.  Came home and cooked some squash from the garden.  Only about 4 more to do.  Yay!  Did more around the house to get ready for thanksgiving.  Went to Aldi's for a few things.  Went to the dentist.  He put me on an antibiotic and will take care of my broken tooth after I'm done with it.  He told me to call him if it starts hurting, even if it's during his Thanksgiving Dinner.  He will take care of it so I'm not in pain.  He said he doesn't think I will have any problem though.  I took my prescription to Meijer to get filled because the dentist said it would be free there. I was happy to see two eagles by the next on Midland Rd.  I went to visit John at HealthSource.  I took him a snickerdoodle cookie from Baynes.  He loved it and couldn't believe how big it was. Went back to Meijer to pick up my prescription.  Went to Holly's after that to drop off the checks for the boxes.  Came home and did my lesson for Bible Study.  Bill went to the Marine Corp. League meeting and I went to Bible Study.  It was a great study and we had a fun time.  Bill and I watched a Hallmark Movie when we got home.

11/13/18..Icy roads this morning, Bill had dentist appt. I went to breakfast, took Melissa to therapy, Dropped off Shoeboxes at Holly's,

This morning's Bible reading was good.  Bill had a dentist appt. at the VA at 8 a.m.  He called me to let me know the roads were icy.  I went to our breakfast at Sullivans. I took it slow on our road.  Midland Rd. seemed good, but when I went to turn to stay on Midland Rd. where it curves into State St. there was a line up of cars and I slid.  Glad I stopped in time.  A semi was behind me and I sure was praying he would be able to stop.  He did.   There was an accident at State and Midland Rd. and a police car with his lights still on was sitting on the bridge.  Didn't see any accident, but heard at breakfast that there was one.  Wes, Gayla, Don, Loraine, Andy, Dennis and I were the only ones there today. I had an egg sandwich for breakfast which was delicious.  They don't have it on the menu, but were nice and made it for me.  I went grocery shopping after breakfast.  Got a 23.74 lb. turkey.  Lots of super big turkeys were available today.  Glad they had a great sale on turkeys with a $25 purchase.  Got ten $5 off 10 items.  Went to Melissa's after that and took her to therapy.  Came home while she was at therapy.  On my way to get her, I stopped at Jacks and got my hungry birds some more thistle seed.  Got some burger too.  Picked Melissa up and went to Old Town Drive in.  Had a coupon for buy one coney dog and get one free.  Hotdogs are cheaper on Tuesday so got a great deal.  Went to Melissa's to eat them.  Vikki stopped over to spend time until she had to pick the kids up from school.  Took the Operation Christmas Shoeboxes over to Holly's House.  The crown on my tooth came off.  I could tell it was loose was going to mention it tomorrow when I go to the dentist.  Glad I had an appt. scheduled.  Called the dentist when it happened and they told me they can take care of it tomorrow at my regular appt.  Came home and watched Kirk Cameron's documentary "Connect".  It was informative and good.  Sewed Bill's pocket in his Marine Dress Sports Jacket.  Made dinner, watched the news and watched a movie.

Walked at SportsZone, Cleaned the house, Went to Golden Coral for a free Dinner for Bill, Went to the funeral home for the viewing of Nancy French's dad

Isaac wanted his hair straightened.  He looks cute with it straight and cute with it curly.  Love his photo bomber in the background.
This cute picture came up in my facebook memories today.  I sure do miss Sammy!  He was the best horse ever.  Kenzie loved him too.

I tried to get Lucky the dog working the other day for Peyton and Isaac but he didn't do anything.  Today I got him working...He sits, comes, plays dead, rolls over, stands on his head, and does much more.  Kenzie loved him when she was little.  Peyton and Isaac sure were happy I got him working.  I sent them a video so they are excited to come see him.

Bill and I walked at SportsZone.  Bill and Charlie went to Denny's for their free breakfast afterward.  I cleaned the house and Bill got home and took care of the leaves in the yard and on the trampoline.  We went to the Golden Coral after for another free meal for Bill.  No cooking for me this weekend.  We were in line and a young couple ahead of us started talking to us.  He was a marine and he had gotten wounded in Afghanistan.  They were from Caro and were so nice.  There was a table in the parking lot with a US Flag and three other flags.  While I stayed in line, Bill went to see what it was.  He came back with a little folder for us and one for the couple ahead of us.  When we looked inside, there were tracks about Jesus, and lots of neat things including a book with John through Romans in it.  There was lots of good stuff in it.  We were happy to get inside the door because we were all really cold.  Jim from the Flint Chapter of CMA met us there and ate with us. We went to Snow Funeral Home for Nancy's dad's showing.  He had so many medals and honors from his service in the Korean War.  We came home and watched a Hallmark Movie.

Bill and his wonderful free meal at Logans

We went to Bob Evan's at 8 a.m. and Bill enjoyed his free breakfast.  I enjoyed my breakfast too.  We came home for about 20 minutes and then went to church.  Good service, worship and message.  After church, we went to the VA Hospital, and Bill did the color presentation for the Veteran's Appreciation Service.  It was so nice and the service was so meaningful to all the veterans at the hospital.  The Birch Run Band did an amazing job playing all the songs for the different branches of service.  After that we went to the State Theater and watched a documentary on the Vietnam War produced by Delta College.  It was so touching and a lot of the men who were in the documentary were there and told more about their time in Vietnam afterwards.  Bill also stood up and shared about his time in Vietnam.  Went to Logans for Bill's free meal afterward. Bill and I were talking about how amazingly nice all the workers and our server was. The manager came and asked us how everything was, and asked about Bill's Medallion, commenting that he looked like a president or something.  We shared about Bill being named Marine of the year for Saginaw.  The manager was super nice to us too.   At the end of our meal, our server brought the bill and told us the manager took care of both of our meals and beverages for us.  What a wonderful day celebrating and honoring veterans and enjoying the day with my veteran hero.  We went to Bed Bath and Beyond after that and Bill got a new pillow with his 25% off discount and an electric throw since his quit working.  We came home and watched a Hallmark Movie.

11/10/18...Went to Birch Run to the Bazaar where Vikki was selling her bracelets, Went to the Marine Corp League Ball, Bill was named Marine of the Year

I went to the Birch Run High School where Vikki, Misty and her Mom had a booth. I picked up a Starbuck coffee for Vikki she had phoned in and paid for.  They called her name as soon as I walked in the door, handed it to me and off I went.  So fast.  Got to the school land Vikki came out the door to meet me.  We walked around the whole thing.  It was huge.  Vikki and Misty's display was the most beautiful.  We saw many beautiful things.  So many talented people.  So happy Vikki could have time to walk around with me.  So much fun.  Came home and ate and then got ready for the Marine Corp Ball.  We picked up James at 4:30.  He wasn't up yet, so one of the nurses aids got him up and she and Bill picked out a nice suit and tie for him to wear.  The aid got him ready and we left for the Ball.  James was a marine and came home and had a stroke.  He is so young to have had that happen.  We are praying for a miracle for him.  We got to the American Legion Hall in Bay City, and it was decorated beautifully.  Debbie and Tom were already there and were waiting for us.  We sat down at our table and they came and told Bill and I we had to sit at the head table with another couple.  I didn't know them.  I was kind of sad that we had to move away from everyone we had invited and didn't really want to sit looking out at everybody, but was happy to see Bill honored.  We ate and the food was amazing.  The couple next to us was really nice.  Debbie was so sweet to James, and went and got his plate of food and then cut his meat for him.  This is the first time she met him.  We were going to help him, but couldn't when they put us at the other table.  Everyone there was so kind to James and made him feel so happy.  It was very touching.  After we ate, John started the program.  Bill was so surprised and happy when they were naming the Marine of the Year for the Saginaw Detachment and they called him up for it.  They gave him a beautiful medallion and plaque.  They had told me they were going to pick him for it at our summer picnic, but I kept it a good secret.  He serves and is a blessing to so many that he really does deserve this honor.  I am very proud of him.  We moved and sat with Ralph and Julie for a while, danced and then left for home.

I took Melissa to therapy and dropped her off.  On my way home, I stopped at Kroger to let them know Bill went to use the gift card I bought from there and it didn't have any money on it.  It was a long time before I got waited on, and then the girl called the card company and waited on hold for 15 minutes and finally gave me the phone to wait so she could wait on other customers.  I waited 20 minutes and still no one took our call.  The message kept saying they were answering calls in the order they came in.  I finally told the girl I had to pick up Melissa, so had to get going.  She just gave me all the stuff and told me to call at home.  You would think they could just handle it at the store.  I haven't had time to deal with it yet.  Went to Aldi's to get what I needed to make goulash for Kenzie.  After all that waiting at Kroger, I didn't have time to go home and make it like I planned before picking up Melissa.  I headed to get Melissa and we came to my house.  Kenzie got there early, so I called and had her put water on to boil for the macaroni.  I had cooked the burger and made the birthday cake last night so I was sure happy I had that done.  Made the goulash and also Squash from the garden which are two of Kenzie's favorites.  We ate and then sang Happy Birthday to Kenzie, then to Travis.  She was very excited about her Sweatshirt with a picture of Katniss, her cat, on it.  She loved her stamps for glass pendant making from Vikki and her family and also the Milli's (for her pendant making) from Bill and I. We had a fun time celebrating birthdays and visiting.  I made banana pudding/vanilla wafer dessert to take to Dennis and Amy's.  We went there at 5:30 and ate with them, Dennis and Gail. We played 3-13 afterward and then Phase 10.  We ate some chocolate drizzle popcorn for a snack and it was delicious. I am going to have to get some from Sam's Club.

11/8/18...Vacuumed the deck,Went to Veteran's Appreciation at SVSU

The deck after vacuuming it with the yard vacuum

After yesterday's high winds, the deck had lots of leaves piled thick on it

Took Melissa to therapy at 7:45 a.m.  Came home after I dropped her off and did laundry.  Bill and Charlie went and picked up the camper.  They did a good job on it.  They also put in an access door for Bill to winterize it.  Bill took it to them to winterize because he couldn't find the access door.  Come to find out, there wasn't an access door.  They had to crawl in through the bottom storage door to winterize it.  Bill didn't want to go through that every year, so he asked if they could put an access door in.  They put one in the bunk house wall.  Turned out good and will be easy for Bill to winterize now.  I brought the rug in from the camper and washed it.  They got it muddy when they worked on the camper.  I put it back in the camper and closed up everything for the winter.  Put the tire covers on too.  Bill did the leaves in the yard, so I asked him to start the gas leaf vacuum for me and I would do the leaves on the deck.  I got the deck leaves all picked up.  Big job and my arms sure were tired afterward.  Sure picked them up good. The deck looks great now.  Bill asked me to go to the Veteran's Appreciation at SVSU.  We went and it was a nice service.  They had an 8 person choir from the college sing.  They had amazing voices.  They sang our National Anthem and God Bless America.  They had cake afterward. Bill took two pieces.  I ate one and thought it tasted like the frosting had cream cheese in it.  I asked Sandy Van Tol if it did and she said yes. Now we really know it is in Bill's head only that he doesn't like it.  That's the third time he's wanted more dessert with cream cheese in it, until he found out it had it in it.   We got things ready for our Faith Rider's meeting tonight.   Went to our meeting and is was a really good one.  28 were there and lots of people are starting to get involved and help with things.  We watched a funny Hallmark Movie called The Most Wonderful Time of the Year when we got home.  I laughed so hard.  They are saying we are in for a snowstorm tomorrow.  Kenzie is supposed to come for her birthday, so hope it's not too bad out.
